You know, I'm now apathetic. Not even sure I want to pirate these games. What's the point? Everybody's going to buy it anyways, they'll sell millions, there will be outrage, Gamefreak will jingle some shiny keys in the fandom's face before the next set of games, everybody will forget, they'll buy, get pissed anew, rinse and repeat Gamefreak knows they can get away with no effort. Why try? They'll be rewarded for mediocrity. I don't want to buy it til at least after the critical first month, and even then I'm not sure I want to touch it, let alone buy it. Even piracy is just... Meh What's the point? Guess the thread topic is, "When did you become apathetic and realize the franchise is a monster that will ever die, and why are you still here if you feel so meh?"

>>40793373 Noticed the decline in XY, and figured they'd realize they had to step things up.
It wasn't until USUM that I realized how naive I was.

People said the same shit about Star Wars. Granted it took literally everything possible going wrong to finally kill that, but isn't that what we're witnessing here? Shills and twitter 'personalities' are always gonna shill but there is a sizeable amount of people pissed at this game.

>>40793463 Do most casuals care though? Does TPCi even care? So long as they get their money, if not from games, then from plushies, cards, etc., then why would it affect them?

I played XY when I was like 17/18 and I was simply offended by the handholding, linearity, and story for literal kindergarteners (that's a given but still worse than before). Haven't really played a game since.

I left /vp/ a while ago, and only came because I was bored and it was leak season. Still had faith since I actually really liked ORAS minus the BF thing, but Gen 7 was when it started being a noticable dip. By the time gen 8 showed up, I was meh until the not all pokemon thing, which was the last straw. Don't even know what happens to living dex people, since you're just stuck until Home.

gaming has more pathetic corporate bootlickers than star wars does. nothing will ever make the 15-16 million nu-males who buy these games stop consuming product.

>>40793643 One thing I have realized is that the producers know exactly which parts of the game they should not cut into if they want to keep on selling lots for lower effort. That being the actual main journey. This consists of new designs, the new region and new gimmicks. These three things guarantee at least 15 million sales. They aren’t dumb and they know just what buttons to press to cut costs while simultaneously retaining a large proportion of potential revenue. This isn’t even factoring in the brand loyalist hardcore fans who aren’t disappointed with the series but don’t want to skip the newest instalment. The only real way much change could happen is if they hardcore fans and all content producers just completely ignored the series and if it fell out of popularity. Normies and kids only play what is popular.
