I actually really like a lot of these new designs including the starters but holy shit, this game looks terrible.

I find it pretty sad that I just want a datamine to hurry up and get the stats so I can use these on showdown. I'm more excited for a fucking battle simulator than the actual games. Gamefreak needs to stop the yearly releases.

Part of me is still excited about these games. I love most of the new mons, the clean UI and quality of life changes etc but I'm still really bummed out about the national dex, a lot of my favorites aren't in and part of me hopes GF does special events adding in the ones that were cut but I know that's never gonna happen

Why didn't they just borrow the botw engine and plop pokemon models in it.
Nintendo is finally realizing they need to ask for external help to be competitive instead of relying on stupid gimmicks people get bored of. MonolithSoft helped with Botw because they knew how to make open worlds. Koei techmo basically made fe3h because IS are are dumb as GF and Fates was hated.
GF never made a console pokemon game and they're jumping straight into an open world genre. They constantly overwhelm themselves with annual dead lines from tpc.
This was the game they were supposed to win all their fans back with. But they sound legitimately proud of it, like they've never even played an actual modern video game before.

The designs are mostly horrible (hear me, I truly believe any of the last 3 gens had redeeming qualities and plenty of good pokémon to pick from) and I believe they should stop creating new pokémon on the upcoming games.
