I'm a bit confused, I know the Galar Pokédex is missing 500+ Pokémon, but isn't everyone forgetting the Alolan Pokédex was also missing a lot of Pokémon despite having the full roster in the game?

Surely it would be a similar case here where National Pokémon are in the game, just not in the Pokédex?

If a Pokemon isn't in the Galar dex, it's not in the game and can't be transferred into it via Home. That's the difference

Anon, they stated that if any Pokemon aren't in Galarian pokedex, they can't be transfer over months ago. 400 plus some mythical pokemon are all that Gen 8 have.

We can't transfer them, that's the whole fucking point. They're not programmed into the games

It's genuinely sad how many people didn't realize just how bad things are. Just recently, I was talking with someone who's had the game on pre-order for months and he wasn't even aware that every future generation of Pokemon is now planned to be roster shit

No, this is in fact not the case. All Pokémon not in the Galar Pokédex will not be included in any shape or manner in the game, and no you cannot even transfer them from other games, effectively keeping them stuck at Pokémon Home if you ever got a Pokémon there. What's worse is that GF plans to bring this to all future games moving forward.

You can still use pokemon not from Alola in gen 7 games. You will not and cannot use Pokemon that aren't in the regional dex in Gen 8. That's the difference.

They technically said you couldn't transfer pokemon not in the regional dex.
I think the data will be there, we just can't access it and models will probably be missing (or just inaccessible and not connected to the data). They do this every gen with items and such.
They honestly could do every pokemon they just don't want to because they're buttering up younger fans to not expect national dex.

We're just going to have to fairly warn people that don't know any better: Keep mons out of Home that aren't in Galar. Fuck knows when you can use them again.

That's what's so dumb about it. You can bring them into Home to do... what with them? Literally sit in stasis until they might happen to be used again.

The thing that has me confused is how cross game battling will work for remakes. FRLG can battle with R/S/E. HG/SS with D/P/P etc. But if there's no data for missing pokemon in every new game, and the D/P remakes would have their own subset of pokemon, how would battling work?

They'd either have to limit it so you can only use pokemon that are shared between them would would be fucking stupid and pointless, or there'd have to be shared data between them would wouldn't make any fucking sense

or there just flat out won't be remakes
