Is anyone who hasn't before gonna try and complete the full dex this game? I've actually never finished an entire dex in previous games (I tried in ORAS and XY but never followed through), but the dex cut is sorta pushing me to try and do it this time.

I completed the dex in Ultra sun because I wanted the shiny charm. I'm going to do it again for Sword for fun, it's not too hard, just a little time consuming

I've always just played the main story and postgame, I never really went much farther when it came to catching everything or online battling. Though with only 400 Pokemon in, as sad as it is, i'm more motivated to try it.

Cutting the Pokedex down defeats the real challenge of completing the pokedex.

I just want em to gate the shiny charm behind something, now it's just a slog to do so knowing I can never 100%

The last time I did was in Gen 6 games. Haven't complete Gen 7 dex, and I don't want to come back to it again.
Since gen 8 Dex is just 400 Pokemon, I want to try it again.

I've always completed the Regional dex. If they do regional dex entries again like SuMo then it should be fun completing it.

I'm going to finish as much as I can. Also, I have some shiny Pokemon that made it into Sword and Shield, so I want to make sure they all of their ribbons before I bring them in.

I already did in preparation for this game. This was before we found out about the culling. I most likely would had quit if I knew what was to come, but at least I finally caught them all.

Personally I think the dex completion quest really isn't too hard, especially if you just do it by a game by game basis.
You could go all the way back to the GBA to start in RSE and FRLG or just from XY and on and still be able to grab each one of the pokemon outside of the event ones.

You're kinda setting yourself up for failure if you see the 800+ pokemon that can be in USSM and wanting to complete it there. Unless you're a turboautist like me and just like completing the dex no matter.
