Hell, Peach Ball Splash came in earlier and when I added the case to the pile, it passed through my mind to wonder how many of them were being sold based on the female characters.
Of the 49 in my room here, 31 of them have females on the cover. Only 19 of which even feature a main female character, the majority of which are optional (like Astral Chain, God Eater 3, Hyrule Warriors DE, and Minecraft). And that's also including villains just to give them the largest possible excuse.
Ironically despite being classified as hyper sexual at one point (which I would say is a completely reasonable classification) I don't buy games with my dick so it's not like I'm skewing it to such a degree (I'm not against it but I buy my games for the games).
There's a reason they're on the cover even though some of them are literally tertiary characters at best.
