I can’t tell whether dynamaxing is dumber than mega evolution or not. Could they really not think of anything better than adding edgy or goofy forms of existing pokemon?

It's a lot better than megas imo because it seems like it's not trying to be taken so seriously. Almost all the designs are just silly and fun. The real tipping point is going to be if the entire story revolves around it line the last two stupid gimmicks or not.

They're both very dumb but for different reasons. Gigantamaxing is not only dumb for being a waste of time and resources but while Megas had some good designs thrown in, the majority of these giants look like shit

It does relate to the plot. Dynamax keeps the crowds coming. If your town can't make Pokemon Dynamax then its doomed to be a shithole. Big bad wants Eternatus so he can keep Dynamax around for centuries.

Why the fuck are a lot of pokemon this gen look like they were designed by literal kids?
They're all using simple shapes or are made of boxes, or have no complex form to them. I expect them to release the official concept artwork and it'll all be like drawings by 5 year olds.
