The fact is, they lied. They just randomly cut as many Pokemon as they could in order to save money, it has/had nothing to do with balance concerns like they said. There's nearly 1000 Pokemon in the last generation, finding out exactly what ones need to go and which ones to stay is an unbelievable amount of effort that not even GF could hope to achieve. Your bros were cut because they wanted to do less work for more money
