Dumber than Dynamaxing. Mechanically, it's just a temporary stat boost.

Yes, and also no. I should have seen this coming as early as LGPE's announcement and the fact that it had no post gen 1 evos, but I was too much of an optimist to not think this could have ramifications on the future.

This. I disliked but expected us to keep getting XY quality games from now on since ORAS and SM failed to improve much since, but I never imagined them to fucking nosedive everything with the dex cuts.
