>>40836161Squirrels are a bit of a big thing over here in the UK because the grey squirrels that were brought over from the US have been pretty destructive and grey/red squirrels just can't seem to live in one place together which is causing the reds to go extinct. Reds are a lot more popular and their potential extinction is going super fast, greys were only brought over in the 1800s.
Sadly GameFreak isn't doing much with that history though, just seems to be Skwovet representing the greys and Greedunt representing the reds without much relation between them. Maybe dex entries will have something.
