This design would work so much better if it was more like Tangela, where the black is just shadow hiding its true form.

These guys are just literally black. What happens when I touch them? What does it feel like? It's so odd. That's the only thing keeping me from liking them, it's too awkward, and they're too spherical.

they're literally mimicking a caterpillar when they get into battle formation. Would have been cool if they kept the theme and when they evolved made a formation to look like a Moth (or maybe just had an alternate form)

Should've been some combination of Fighting, Steel, and Bug depending on the form.
e.g. Steel/Fighting while spread out, Steel/Bug while in formation.

They're so inconsistent about typing that they should just do whatever is more interesting in the meta at the time. This game is missing all 3 Bug/Fighting Pokemon and 1 of the 2 Steel/Fighting Pokemon, so now's the perfect opportunity to stretch things a bit.

How could this NOT be Steel type is what I want to know. I don't care that it's a "fake" bug, it's still covered in metal shields, armor and spikes. That's every part of their bodies that isn't blacked-out; all metal.
