Reminder that Game Freak has publicly stated that they have no intentions to allow transfer of all Pokemon found in Sword and Shield to future titles.

This nullifies the whole "time restraint" excuse and leads to one conclusion. They didn't cut the Pokemon due to time restraints, they got cut to sell you on Pokemon Home AND to get you hyped for the "return" of old Pokemon in future games. It's a marketing decision.

So basically if you're buying Sword and Shield you're a gullible retard.
