It definitely will. Theres way more people defending it then people actually upset. It's going to be a massive system seller for the Switch which already has a big player base to begin with. If you don't like that idea then you just to have move on. Pokemon isn't for you anymore.

That's always the case though. Pokémon games don't have the legs of Mario Kart or whatever, the vast bulk of Sword/Shield's lifetime sales will be here in 2019.

It won't but that's because it's a more expensive game on a more expensive console. Since the switch is a home console and most families will only have one it's also pretty likely that they won't be able to sell a copy for each child in the house.

Problem isn't being a Pokemon game
It's the fact of being on the switch where sales multiply for certain things
LGPE should have not followed the usual thing, especially with the GO connection
If Pokemon's selling at its usual pace Sword and Shield are fucked because there's only 1/3rd of switches compared to DS

Possibly, but I'm betting on 12 million around the 2 year mark.

Even MHW has only done 14 in just under two with about 22% more preorders and support + DLC.
