Ultra S&M, I played through Moon and loved it, bought Ultra Moon a year later. I booted the game up, named my trainer, logged into the mystery gift to get the orange lycanroc and then never booted the game up again.
Seeing the current state of Sword and Shield is just the nail in the coffin.

It hasn't gone anywhere, it just doesn't extend to these halfassed shitshows we've had since 3D happened. I have the older games on my phone, so I'll just keep finding new ways to play those until gamefreak either fixes the series or dies.

If anything the biggest problem is the fact they give it to you so early and wait until the postgame. Before the Elite Four you already have a Latios/Latitas and a Kyogre/Groudon. That's rediculous and one of the many reasons why ORAS is considered the easiest game in the franchise.

Disappointed with BW, liked BW2. Incredibly hype for XY and was let down again. ORAS was enjoyable because I'm a hoennbab but very obviously lacking, SM was better than XY but still lackluster, USUM was more of the same. Don't own a switch and have no interest in ever buying one given how awful LGPE and swoshi look

The fucked up part is that if they never pointed out they were removing Pokemon in that one interview then the only way we would know about it is when the game got leaked weeks before release. That means millions would've preordered the game without knowing about the removed Pokemon.

Still made a competitive living dex in gen 6 despite x/y being fairly mundane.

Had my entire game library stolen before s/m.

Fresh start with s/m was fun for 50 hours or so.

Never played the sequels.

Hoping s/s will rekindle my passion.

I was already on a bit of a downfall with the 3DS games because they were mediocre, but when a switch game was announced I sadly had some hope. But of course it was blatant KAAANNNTTTO and it sold millions. Masuda's admittance to dex cutting was the nail, and all of the info released on Galar thus far has been trash from graphics, to gameplay, to having so little release info for a new gen to keep as much BS out of the loop that even Japan never got the dex cutting news officially and it will still fucking sell. Too late I realized that they don't have to make a good game, because why should they?

ORAS. While I didn't really care for XY at the time I just considered it a rough start due to being on a new system like Diamond and Pearl. With ORAS I expected it to be like HGSS where it's completely surpasses the originals but that didn't happen and I still prefer Emerald's pacing, challenge, and postgame. This disappointment continued into SM where I hated the long tutorial at the beginning and disliked how much focus Lillie got who I could care less about. I didn't even bother to play USUM because the idea of playing through Alola a second time just wasn't worth it. I had low expectations for LGPE to begin with due to the focus on the Pokemon Go audience but it still remains the worst remake yet. SwSh look pretty underwhelming as well but it's not like Gen 7 was a high bar. Ever since the jump to 3D this series has been so underwhelming.
