>>40874254Hatterene is certainly prettier but Gardevoir has an existing fanbase. Time will tell but for now Gardevoir has the edge in this matchup.
Gardevoir also had the notable edge of being in the pre-prominent social era, as in she gathered a shitload of isolated people as fans and when social media blew up beyond shitspace the community multiplied tenfold. Hatterene has the disadvantage of being born into the era of twitterfags with 10 second attention spans and more cute lasses than they can shake a stick at.
If Hatterene can gather a sizable fanbase of kids waifuing it as many did for Garde before, it will last and may possibly enter into true contention with Garde.
Minor additional influences
>Hatterene is exclusively female>Gardevoir has higher spread and appears on many more piece of media>Hatterene is untested, they don't know if they should promote her or not. The waters are being tested by her being Bede's ace, but this also could just be a sort of theme in relation to Wally having a Ralts (which went Gallade in ORAS but hey)>Gardevoir fans appear to dislike Hatterene as they view her as competition rather than a friendly face. As such, she comes into the series facing many foes alongside those with open arms, unlike Garde who had little in the way of competition and was the first to fill a niche in the series (a pretty, capturable human-like girly thing, and no Jynx doesn't count, Jynx is fat and ugly)>Hatterene's color scheme is prime for shitposting obviously, despite being a monogender female mon>Gameplay roles share similarities obviously, but not identical roles>Hatterene is coming out in a very controversial gen in the community, but also during an age where fan media production is at an all time high>Hatterene has a G-max so she may appeal to the giantess crowd or somethingOverall this war may go on for quite some time. Personally I like them both, I have Gardes named Eve/Evelyn, would name my Hat Sophie if I bother with SnS.
