>>40874349If the game doesn't have good replayability or postgame content, there's a high chance I won't buy it.
Pokemon used to have both by having simple stories that you can get through in a day if you really wanted to and by having shit like the Battle Frontier, minigames, and other places to explore and do stuff in.
Most of it has been cut or have been substituted for even worse stuff.
The Battle Frontier, the PWT, The Pokeathalon, Game Corners and Voltorb Switch, DIY Safari Zones, Contests, and stuff like getting sent an event item to go do a sidequest to catch a legendary Pokemon.
That kind of stuff kept me coming back and enjoying the game. Now all that's left for me is a Battle Tower I've already played, 12 hour long cutscene slogfests, hour long postgames that are also cutscene slogfests where you fly from place to place, and halfbaked stories that feel like they want to be something different but always pussyfoot away, making them feel like nothing really ever amounts to much of anything or that something is missing.
Even then, EVEN THEN, you'd have to be a fool to not wait a year or two once the initial releases of Pokemon games come out to see if they make a revised third version or not.
Even if it's a (theoretically) good Pokemon game, it's best to wait a year to see what comes out of it.
