the "removal" of popular features has been pressent since gen 3 quit denialing following pokemon where already "removed" there or pheraps they are suposed to be more unique features that we will always remember and cherish rather than them being normalized to the point no one gives a fuck about them anymore

The removal of popular features has indeed been a thing, but NEVER to such a gigantic extent as this. Dexit is PERMANENT. You will NEVER be able to catch 'em all again. This sets an incredibly large precedent for the series, and NOT in a good way.

Gen1 only had pikachu.
A pikachu you couldn't put into a box, ensuring your team had one slot forever taken up.
A pikachu you couldn't evolve in any fashion.
A pikachu that clearly was more of a 'one time gimmick' even back then.
It was never a feature removed, because it was just something special for a 'special' version of the game.

The Real crying shame is stuff like Crystals animations replaced with twine animations in RSE, the loss of days of a week and day/night for just a 24 hour ticker for berry's and trees, the lack of ability to reface trainers or have interactions with them beyond battling, among a sluth of other tibits Gen2 gave us and then got dropped for...GBA graphics and trumpets.

there hasnt been alot of being able to "catch them all" anyways but we are getting alot of features in exchange like wild area and being able to move the camera, curry, pokejobs, max raids, real time overworld multiplayer, pokecamp and probably more we havent discovered yet(or that im not remebering) and as much some of those are being memed on they are not bad features in any way

No, you could TRADE the pikachu, thus removing it and the entire gimmick from the game, even if it was traded back, it would now no longer follow you.
Otherwise you had to keep the furbar on your team 24/7 because gamefreak back then didn't know how else to code such a feature in without it breaking otherwise.

This is the company that thought the addition of following Pokemon was nothing but a gimmick to sell HGSS and I guess Yellow earlier, instead of realizing that it was the kind of welcome addition that should have been in every game after. You quite literally cannot win with GF at the helm.
