Their powerlines may have produced the sparks that set the fires, but the fires would never have gotten so out of control to begin with if CA's retarded regulations didnt dry up the fields and forests.
They also make it a pain in the ass for utilities like PG&E to perform maintenance. Greed is definitely a contributing factor but it is not the only thing. Without SOME sort of functional powerline to serve customers they have no revenue

Its a nice idea but the central valley (im in the 209) and sierras populations that support the fragmentation would NOT want to get stuck in the same state as the SF/LA areas. But thats a problem since they need at least one decent port city to export the food they produce. Or maybe they could just sell at a massive markup to coastal CA so long as its labeled organic local vegan nongmo.
