out of the 3D-modeled gens, which one looks the best overall? I personally have more favorites in gen 8 than in the other two

Gen 7. I honestly loved the majority of the pokemon designs and I thought the island theming was great. Only a few sore spots like Incineroar and Mudsdale, compared to Gen 6 and Gen 8 where about half the pokemon are sore spots.

Gen 6 sucked design-wisely. Kalos will be forgettable and always be.
Gen 7 look okay but Pokemon themselves aren't good, too slow. It felt empty.
Gen 8 look okay, most Pokemon are actually great this time so I'm pleased with this. So It's Gen 8 for me.

Gen 7. I especially loved the UBs, and it also introduced my favorite 'mon of all time.

Gen 8 is the best, sure they don't look like pokemon, but that's what makes them good...we really needed a breath of fresh air in pokemon designs.
