You never know how long you'll have to wait to be able to use your Lopunny in a contemporary game again. Maybe a year, maybe two, maybe five.
And what if you want to use Lopunny together with Cinderace? Maybe Lopunny shows up in the next game, but Cinderace doesn't. And vice versa next generation.
Your Pokemon will be held hostage in Home (for a small yearly fee), and each year there'll be a 40% chance you can use it.
What's maybe even worse is that if UltraSword/Shield brings a different dex, you won't be able to trade or battle with Sword/Shield. Same with D/P remakes.
