>>40900943Mostly because the player is rarely actively involved in them, these are things that happen concurrently and occasionally the player is in the right place at the right time and intervenes. The games have plots but they're not really ABOUT those plots, every game is about going on an adventure, catching and training some Pokemon, and eventually becoming champion. You don't start the games trying to stop Team Rocket or anything like that. The plot is secondary to the player's story. This is something Pokemon has always done and I personally really like it, the games are a little too mechanically basic to carry a heavier, more involved story.
