i don't get the new fossils, so it's entirely impossible to get their true forms? can i mishmash the fosil parts before i revive the fosil? i don't get it

It’s impossible to get their true forms because each of the four fossils are broke into half and you only see halves of their body parts. Hopefully, we will get to see the other halves and true forms in a 3rd version of the games. Also, yes, you can mishmash the fossil parts to get two of the four combinations and revive them.

sadly i dont think you'll be able to get the true forms because it kind of ruins the point of the gimmick

the fosils this gen feel like a massive missed opportunity, the idea of making your own fossil with different parts is cool, but not having more options, including to just form the fossil as normal, as well as the mishmash parts looking fucking awful really ruins it for me

If that were the case there would be 8 Dex slots unaccounted for (4 for the other combinations and 4 for the originals). Every Dex slot is accounted for using the Shield leaker, the Sword leaker, and the Pokemon that were confirmed to be returning to fill in the blanks.

There CANT be the pure forms anon, if they got their pure forms, the base 4 would be nothing but dex bloat, and that would absolutely fuck Masuda and Turner's purge reasoning since they're the ones adding pointless dexbloat now. Of course its not like a bunch of the pokemon in gen 8 aren't already just shitty dex bloat to begin with

That and I think being able to mix and match for type coverage is sort of clever, I just wish they didn't fuck up Dracovish so much worse than the other three.
