As a ghostchad, I would welcome Stonejourner into our ranks so that I can have a full team of new ghostmons and gigantogengar to work with. That being said, I very much doubt he will be anything besides pure rock

Cursola line becomes brittle and looses its rock like quality and Runerigus is made of clay. I think rockvirgins are wanting the ghost typing bad, but ghostchads don't give a shit.

By what metric is that even remotely true? Some type combinations are simply not very good. I can't think of any particular advantage combining Rock and Ghost together would give to any Pokemon, and their arguably worse together than they are apart.

Exactly this. Rock fans want it because it gives mono-Rock teams an option for perfect immunity against Fighting moves. I'm sure they are drooling over the potential of a Rock/Ghost with Levitate that they could pair with something like Stakataka in the monotype format. Heck, even mono-Rock casual playthroughs would like it.

Yes they are. Besides ghost/ground is still bad besides resisting rock. ghost/rock isn't much worse, and resisting flying is nice

Because there are four Pokémon, two being coral skeletons (which are almost literally rock) and two being ghost-possessed runestones (which are actually literally rock) that both got cucked out of a new, unique typing for absolutely no discernible reason.

There's no discernible reason for their being a need for unfilled type combinations besides your autism. When the right design comes along you'll get your Ghost/Rock typing, but not today. Deal with it, perhaps.
