It's the fact that there were at least 3 new Pokemon who could have easily been Ghost/Rock (GCorsola, Runegris, Stonjourner) and they're not, on top of the huge amount of monotypes.

Lmao this guy’s back. Listen man, unique type combos are inherently interesting purely by virtue of novelty, and if the mon it’s attached to is halfway decent it’s even more fun. Ghost/rock in particular is tossed around a lot now because we haven’t gotten one yet and there are multiple reasonable candidates for it this gen. You shouldn’t have to post this again after reading this, surely.

Golurk is GOAT ghost type. I went to see Detective Niggerchu with my friend and literally the only memorable thing about the movie was Golurk, and all he fucking did was stand around in the background of a few shots. I like how they actually made him look like he was actually made out of dirt/rock, though.

Aerodactyl could potentially handle ground and grass alongside fighting, though the coal final evo could take the grass counter role. Other fossils had their roles as well admittedly. But it gets a lot harder in the current setup

Johto Corsola has Regenerator as its Hidden Ability, that is one of the best for singles, and Toxapex is the only other regenerator that survived the culling I believe
