I've never blamed the dev's at Gamefreak for Pokemon's mistakes. They all work hard just like any other devs, but the projects are mismanaged as hell and there isnt enough budget for the work that's needed to complete these games.

Gamefreak obviously since main series and side projects are their primary source of income, merch sells constantly so TPC themselves aren't exactly short on money

Its important to note that TPC exists entirely because Gamefreak couldn't handle the weight of Pokemon as a brand, and their role over all is to ensure the brand is making money for all three parent companies and that all three have a say in the brands direction rather than just one. It's in the best interest of Nintendo and Creatures to get games out yearly even if it's not for Gamefreak so their vote wins out every time. 2 against 1. Gamefreak has their own problems for sure but the core issue here is that the system right now works against them. They lack power.

Creatures: Originally producers, now they just do models to be used in all sorts of Pokémon media and the TCG
The Pokémon Company: Manages everything else. The producing role from Creatures went to TPC, so according to them they decide what gets Pokémon and what doesn't. In Japan, while they publish the games there, Nintendo is still the one distributing the games.

So as you can see it's a clusterfuck. The copyright is owned by Nintendo, Creatures and GF. Nintendo owns every other legal shit.

Nintendo didn't delay other of their big title and left Pokémon as their only big bet for holidays and further promote a new model of their consola either. And the anime had a more filler arc on both ocassions (Orange Islands and Battle Frontier), so there was less reason for a new region in the anime.

I don't think you understand how selling shit like that works. If a product is on the shelves for longer than a year, retailers don't like that. While that used to be a sign of a strong product that could be sold for years, these days it's just a shelfwarmer. What that means is they have to put out new product with new names in about a year's worth of time, more or less. Adding everything up, it makes sense that TPC has everybody else by the balls. They took away Creatures Inc.'s easy money, they're the ones putting pressure on Game Freak to keep up with their ridiculous schedule, and Nintendo is totally fine delaying their own games constantly so their products don't look like total shit. But I can't really blame TPC either because they're a business just trying to make money. The real problem, then, is the brainless fucking consumers who will buy anything new. I guess what I'm saying is stop buying Pokemon shit you retards. I'm certainly not.

When people just talk about throwing money at the problems, I don't think they get it. Hiring more staff could help, but the real issue will always be time. You can have infinite budget, but time will keep on ticking regardless of other problems that may come along.

Correct. That probably also means DP anime wasn't too advanced in production, so they still had time to delay both games and anime. And it still didn't have to sell another versión of the consola with no other big title around the same date delaying at the same time like AC did.

and now they're rebooting the anime to focus on all the regions instead of just the newest one, so this isn't an issue anymore. they can just focus on the other regions until the new one is ready.

And then there's the Candy Toys, the cards, the gachapons, the action figures, the Tomy figures. Meanwhile old stuff gets phased out in favor of the new. Very few plushes or toys get constant reorders and refreshes.

They have waves and phases for all this stuff. The same Gengar plush doesn't sit on the shelf for 20 years and then that's that. They release new sizes, types, designs. You don't know what you're talking about. They cycle through too so the same plush or character isn't on shelf back to back too often. This shit is a long form science. Again you don't know what you're talking about you just want to lash out and blame one single person instead of looking at and understanding the larger complicated picture.

I get your point, but I don't know if I'd call Game Freak a well oiled machine, and I think in the end that's the problem. Everyone is trying to hold GF to a high standard, and they just can't make it, because they're apparently some degree of incompetent. The Switch is hard enough to develop for that Monolith has to help everybody make their damn games, and even HAL couldn't get Kirby to run at 30 FPS without any drops. GameFreak couldn't even handle the DS apparently, and the 3DS era was even worse. Honestly, if I were in charge of anything, I'd re-instate whatever project lead to the GameCube games. It clearly worked out well in the long run, Game Freak got some new employees out of it, and these days they'd be able to take longer to make "good" games while some secondary company makes a fresh seeming side game. Hell, most shitty annual franchises have several different studios working on different games, look at CoD.

Gamefreak no, TPC however is. They handle the merchandise and marketing aspect of these games. That said Gamefreak is a well oiled machine in the sense they get these games out on time every year but that doesn't mean their games are perfect, and those games are starting to show serious cracks. But you're other points are all right. And to add to it they struggled with the GBA tech too. Hell they struggled with the original and color too.

Because SS isn't out yet. Once the games are in shelves they'll pour in. They've already started marketing future merchandise. You don't release all the merch for a game before it's out. Mid November and December will see a lot of SS stuff in shelves.
