Sadly his mother was also his aunt and she drank a lot of moonshime during pregnancy. Also suffers from nu-Gen syndrome where the body is just a bunch of shapes because 3D modellers on GF cut corners like crazy

For me it's in the same category as Hariyama or Rampardos: great HP, great Attack, and absolutely nothing else.
Too slow, no bulk, high HP lets it tank -maybe- an extra hit instead of the multiple hits it could take if it had high defenses.
Plus its typing doesn't do it any favors.

Why does game freak shit on ice types so much. First the ice cream, then that shit and now this. I think the top 5 worst looking pokemon are all ice type.

You're all missing the point. The line is an ode to the short lifespan of a boxer's career. He's quite handsome and stylish when he starts out, looking very much like some delinquent that is willing to take a lot of hits. The fact they only evolve by climbing the largest mountains only to end up an ugly beaten abomination represents the sacrifices one makes by committing to the boxing lifestyle. The end result is parkinson's, a busted face, and mental derangement comparable to some animal. All they have to show for their life is their brute strength and martial ability, making them fit as boxing trainers as shown by the boxing mitt claws. All in all, the line is not meant to be visually appealing, it's meant to portray the reality of these fighters that throw themselves into the thick seeking those moments of glory only to be quickly forgotten.

I feel like crabrawler and crabominable should have been their own pokes and not a line. Like they’re analogues to Zangoose and Serviper in that they constantly train to fight each other and they’d be version exclusives.

No reason why it couldn't be a little bit of both, honestly. It's actually a pretty nuanced design when you take the time to think about it, it's a shame he only gets his showcase for a very small stretch of the game.
