I can legitimately see them charging fees for slow dripfeed releases of small Pokémon bundles, prolonged over a span of years, ala GTA Online.

It's far from better solutions, and not how I would want them to add in missing Pokémon, but I can see them doing it nonetheless.

It's a classic story. Businesses start to ignore their long time customers because they think they're locked in, so they change the product to appeal to the blue ocean, and end up losing the base. I was on the yearly release schedule. I have a pokebank subscription. I go to VGCs. The amount of money I spend on Pokemon is ten times what someone who buys one game a system does. Do they expect to replace me with eleven new customers? I already skipped LGPE, the way I see it, skipping SS will be easy since it's just continuing the combo.

Wait another year after SwSh's release to get "Sharp Sword" and "Sturdy Shield" edition.
