Non-Alola-Non-Galar forms like Yamask and Meowth are needed to complete the dex, since you need a Persian and a Cofagrigus to that, so they need to put a trade to get these.
But you don't need Alola Forms to complete the dex, maybe they are transferable, but not available natively.
