I don't agree with the removal of pokemon, but I don't see anything wrong with the curry mini game. Having things in addition to battling gives the game flavor. The fact that the stadium games had mini games is part of what made them good

These games just feel so bland and average. They really did just make an XY or ORAS tier game. It has no excuse either since the switch before this point has been pumping amazing games for other nintendo games. Not worth full price at all. Getting this game used. I do hope gamefreak gets a wake up call after sword and average gets released.

While there's nothing wrong with the curry, it's nothing special compared to what we've had before (contests, musicals, berries, gambling, an actual post-game and the like) and it's pretty much the only thing the game has to "make up" for everything else that's missing.
And I know I'd personally rather sacrifice over 100 types of curry for all the pokemon to be back.

You're right, I'll give them that, I'm probably just personally biased against it because I think dyna/gigantamax is the worst gimmick they've done so far.
I also think it's a bit lackluster and boring. Just walking up to lasers and initiating a raid boss doesn't entice me too much. I'd like them to improve on the concept though, like have you and 3 others navigate through some ruins, forests and whatnot, with chances to find unique pokemon and items as well as finishing it off with a raid fight.

It's a pity for the lack of the postgame but I'm relieved to see the evident effort they put into increasing the Quality of the competitive.
the Tower and the competitive Will be the postgame, i Guess.
I'm not mad about the cull, but they surely could have inveente something to lenghten the postgame of 6-7 Hours

I'm pretty similar, started lurking in 2013 and started posting in the following year. Some people have felt this site has embittered them but I feel like it's made me learn how to keep cool and learn when to let go.

But yeah, outside of seasons like this it gets pretty stale here. I can fully understand the appeal of easy bait, especially when there's so many new people flooding in.

The story sounds pretty good, the new designs are fun, there seems to be a hefty amount of stuff to do after the campaign (repeatable tournaments, battle tower, curry recipes, whatever that Swordbert dumb plot is) I don’t use old Pokémon in new games anyway. I’m one of those losers who likes role playing in my Pokémon games, so I use new Pokémon exclusively. A smaller dex from game to game also seems inevitable if they intend to make 1000+ Pokémon.
