I didn't even know the "national dex" was a thing until the chimpout this week.

Every game has 300-500 pokemon in the region and you play the game and catch them. Trading/downloading pokemon from the cloud in the postgame isn't even gameplay. It's just clicking through menus.

The point of being able to bring older pokemon into the new games is to use them for battling, having every pokemon as options for competitive and using them with whatever new items and mechanics are introduced. A lot of the people who complain about "dextrannies" seem to think we want to bring our old pokemon into the new games just to store them there. That's not the fucking case.
