>>40939675While this is true, its just too much risk to just handle pokemon to any dev studio and hope they do a better job, specially since GF is such a closed studio and more like a cult than just any job, which means the people who have worked there in any significant role can be counted with fingers, meaning everyone else can just make guesses as to how to make a pokemon game, years of experience and all the little nuances are hard to pull off (which is why even when good fangames or rip-offs always feel off and never reach mass suscess), which is why nintendo wont yank GF chain unless they do so bad the entire franchise is completely destroyed to the point that even merchandise doesnt sell, which i believe at this point it would take far more bad decissions than just the dex cut to do.
>>40939725it was really evident with the gen 5 attempted reboot and the training of successors and the increase of fresh blood working on GF as designers and devs, it seems like they really just want to hand it off, be done and enjoy their retirement in their private islands with their billion dollars
