Sword/Shield was a 3DS game at first but then they decided half way through to upscale it and
put it on the switch. They only added the Wild Area so it seems it was meant for the Switch

Every single Pokemon in Sun and Moon had walking animations in the games' data so I'm pretty sure the Wild Area was always a thing in mind. Sword and Shield were just 3DS games from the beginning.

Maybe you should only play third versions and quit whining. Meanwhile, ill enjoy a perfectly good pokemon game...probably spending 100-200 hours of gigantamax raids, 100 on battle tower and 200 online.

IIRC, even before Switch's launch, Masuda said they would develop on it only if they had a confirmation of the console's success. And Ishihara even thought the console would be a flop.

And if the development of SWSH lasted 3 years as stated, it means that they had started working on the games before the console was launched or even revealed.
