As flawed as Gen 6 was, it still had some great QoL additions like the PSS and DexNav. It was the best generation to get back into Pokémon if you haven't played it in some time with its massive regional dex and tools for competitive battling. Gen 7 butchered everything outside of adding Pelago and even if Gen 8 has its own set of features, they don't seem as smooth or convenient as using the touch screen.
