The fact that they mentioned in particular that he's from Hoenn may imply a sequel with even deeper lore or at least a more significant crossover, and hence even more mons will be added to the dex. If not, then he's the absolute final nail in the coffin for the franchise.

You're overthinking it. Characters being from other regions adds flavor. In Hoenn alone, Brawly's from Kanto and Norman's from Johto. Hell, Anabel in SM being from Emerald but not ORAS is basically just saying don't think too hard about continuity because GameFreak will do what they want.

Well, if you put it that way, my faith in the franchise is officially dead and I'm only going to stick around for the porn. The only thing for me to even speculate at this point is that the Sinnoh remakes will be skipped in favour of Unova because Turner, meaning Regigigas will continue to get cucked out of viability.
