Nobody's gonna forget the gen that started the dex culling.
Unless you mean design-wise, but even then, everyone's gonna remember this gen because, for better or for worse, the designs are extremely different from the usual artstyle.

gen 2 was the direct sequel to RBY. every time a gen 2 monster showed up it was conspicuously exciting because it was new(!!!)

maybe for zoomers, it doesnt stick to the memory, but for oldfags, we pretty much remember every one of the times we saw a NEW

Gen 6 was probably the most solid generation in terms of designs, with very few that stood out as being very bad and very few that stood out as being very good, so I would say it's fairly forgettable in that sense.
Gen 8 will probably not end up being forgettable because it's crammed full of god awful shit like >>40959636

I'll be honest, I started with Gen 1, and I played a ton of Stadium 2 (never had copies of GSC), and there are some Gen 2 mons that I keep forgetting came from Gen 2 and instead think they originated in Gen 3, particularly Skarmory

Gen 6 was pretty good for it time since it was the first time Gamefreak move on to 3d. Also, it offer pokemon to be usable in competitive like Kangaskhan, Venusaur, and Lopunny.

I have the feeling Corviknight will become a new OU staple. Dragapult too, but depends on move pool. Rest is forgettable shitmons though. Moth has a bad typing, fish is just a sligtly better Basculin and the more unique rest are gimmicks at best.

I don't like the pants, the helm (?), the proportions (those arms are fat noodles, neither showing proper bone structure, nor being overall pleasant to look at). The midstage has similar issues (full body clothing). Meanwhile Scorbunny is a bit cartoonish, but super cute small rabbit.

The problem with gen2 is that it's easy to mistake some of them for appearing first in gen3 because they were ultra rare/hard to get in gen2, while not being that iconic "first batch" gen1

Gen 2 is the one with easily the fewest number of my favorites (literally I think the only Gen 2 pokemon in my top 50 is Lanturn).

But for most forgettable, for me it's Gen3-4 for some reason. There's tons of mon from then that I like, but for some reason I constantly get mons from those gens confused with each other (as in I think a gen 3 is from 4 or a gen 4 is from 3).
Besides those, I can place pretty much every pokemon in their gen easily. Just those 2 blur together for me.
