>>40964884Just in case anyone wonders what Fire-types we have this gen:
>CharizardMaybe the boots and setting up sun with Dynamax can make him work? Don't have high hopes for Gigantamax, but maybe it will surprise me.
>ArcanineProbably gonna be neat with Intimidate shenanigans and such, but not quite OU material. Gonna be good in Doubles as usual.
>Ninetales Sun setter.
>Flareon Pfft.
>TorkoalAnother Sun setter.
>Heatmor Potentially even worse than Flareon
>Chandelure Probably one of the better fire types, but suffers from underwhelming speed unless scarfed, and can be pursuited by Tyranitar, who is going to be everywhere this gen.
>Turtonator Shell smasher, but too slow to make a splash, not gonna go anywhere fast.
>SalazzleWill probably be a solid mon this gen, but be held back by its terrible coverage unless it gets new stuff. 111 SpA, 117 Speed and Nasty Plot is a lethal combo, but it has only Sludge Wave and Fire Blast to really abuse it with.
That's it for old mons. New mons are:
>CinderaceFast as shit, good attack stat, seems to have good coverage, but might need some more key moves to deal with the lack of a second STAB. High Jump Kick or Close Combat to keep Tyranitar from coming in at all on it would be nice.
>CentiskorchI honestly don't know how it will do. If it gets the higher end stats, it will have a niche as a fairly bulky mixed attacker(with a physical focus) that's also fairly fast.
>CoalossalI honestly think it will be bad, but it might surprise me.
