Don't like the region, especially the super linear way you traverse it and little room for exploration. BW2 did a decent job helping this, though, by moving you around the map "out of order" sometimes.
Didn't like a lot of the new Pokemon. In BW1 I had a hard time enjoying it since it forced you to use only the new Pokemon for the story. There were just so many ugly ones it was hard to make a team I was happy with. Just tons of ugly shitmons for most of the game. Cool stuff like Volcarona was way too far into the game to use during the first playthrough.
Didn't like the moving sprites. Partly since I played on a 3DS XL so they were stretched a bit, but I thought the pixilated moving sprites just looked ugly. I'd rather have stuck with the older approach of static sprites that just do a little movement when the Pokemon are sent out.
At leas the post game was pretty good though, and challenge mode plus some other things were nice. Overall the games had a pretty good amount of content, and were the last games to do so.
