Fuck sake. Upper versions shouldn't even be a thing anymore. Why are you buying an inferior product if you know a better one is coming anyways?
I wouldn't even count on the third version being much better if USUM is to go by.

Sword & Shield isn't going to have an upper version. All of the legendaries already have alternate forms and play a role in the plot, and Move Tutors are already in the form of TRs.

The only selling point an upper version would have now is "more Pokemon".

That would just beg the question why they didn't delay the game for a year so they didn't have to deal with the shitstorm that was this entire hype season. It would be better PR, which would be even more money than trying to double dip with a 'fixed' SwSh. Why wait this long to apologize when people have been agitated over a lot as is?

I'm sick of this excuse. We're at the point where we have technically around 1000 'characters' in this franchise. If you can't make them remotely interesting for more than a 3 year cycle they deserve to take the L and pass the torch to someone else.

Have they said anything about the reasoning behind that? Like you would think Scizor and Skarmory would be guaranteed due to steel typing in the weapon named games? Like I'm looking at this list and it's a bunch of awesome pokemon cut to make room for the shitty ones nobody liked.

I dunno, I still found the whole experience to be kind of tacked together. The only really interesting thing I felt it offered was Rainbow Rocket, and I guess the larger mon selection. The story somehow got considerably worse, and Hau as a final boss was wildly disappointing, especially given the slightly higher difficulty of the rest of the game. I’m not even sure about the difficulty though, since I decided to go out of my way to make the game harder for myself.
