This is just a passing hype(?) season, things will return to normal for the board soon after, as usual.
Reason 2.
While I may not like any of the current Pokemon games, I still like Pokemon. This is a big franchise, there are many parts to love and hate.
Reason 3.
There's nowhere better to critically discuss Pokemon, especially right now admist all the drama of this "hype" season.
I hate username based forums and discords because that comes with baggage like post counts and histories that people use against you in attempt to detract from conversation.
Every time I've tried to branch out to other username based sites, I see the same nonsense over and over again that it's nauseating
>cliques of popular posters and their white knights who follow and defend their every word, even if they're in the wrongWhich is funny now, this site used to be filled with tripfags, but as time (and purges) went on, they're few AND hated.
>posters disregarding others argument simply based on how long either has used the site or their post historyNow about this one, ain't gonna pretend old/new faggotry doesn't exist but at least it's all anonymous and as long as you fucking blend in like you're suppose to, nobody will ever know or try to disregard your posts. Not only that, there are no histories as long your posting style and filenames aren't obviously recognizable.
I dont feel like coming up with a third issue right now
I'm not pretending this site doesn't have a large deal of garbage to sift through, one-word replies, obvious bait, shitposts, template threads and so on.
But at the end of the day, I do encounter legitimate discussions about the topics of boards and I feel the posters are genuinely passionate at times about what they're talking about. And because of that, I can get a more fulfilling conversation here about [any board] at times better than anywhere else online.
