I do miss that slightly edgy, but still cute style. Everything was kind of chibi style, but all the characters had scowls and frowned. I miss that funny dichotomy. Now everything is so fucking cute to be marketable. Everyone smiles and won't shut up. Even to kids it's all so patronizing.

that's the joke. You spend hours leveling up these snake pokemon in the hopes of a big dragon and you get some orange barney looking thing. But it's stats and move set are crazy. You also get fucked up in the Elite Four by him.

This gimmick is lost now because everything is overly cute.
