Modern pokemon have the mass market appeal to them where you can tell there was 10 people looking over it saying "should we include the stripe on it's neck? That might now appeal to X demographic, and might make toy production more difficult."
All the character is squeezed out. So while almost all fakemon are shit, I'll say they at least have character.
