Wait until the dataminers get a hold of the game and prove that they could have just copypasted all the Pokemon that already existed

I've already comitted to playing SS with my friends but unless the next game blows me out of the water I'm probably done with pocket monsters.

Sadly no. Two times they've said now that the dex cut is something that they plan to keep doing in the future. There's not going to be DLC or third versions for all the pokemon, they want you to use Home for that.
