Friendly reminder that Sword & Shield only have 14 more Pokemon than Ruby & Sapphire (Gen III GBA games), which released back in 2002. Also, RS were $34.99, while SwSh is $59.99

The graphics, gameplay and QoL improvements are hundreds of times better in SwSh as compared to RS. The price is also standard for most Switch games.

You only had access to 200 pokemon when Ruby and Sapphire released. You needed to connect to Pokemon Colosseum to get the missing Johto Pokemon, and you needed to trade with FRLG to get the missing Kanto Pokemon. It was a full year between the release of RS and the release of Colosseum in Japan, and another 14 months before FRLG released there, meaning it was over two years before all the Pokemon became accessible without using cheat devices.

Every time I've seen a Gen VI or VII game for sale it's been the same price as other 3DS games. Of course, the older ones did get cheaper with time but they WERE the same price at launch.
The EB Games near me was doing LGPE at $79 last year. Either way, the good news is that Game Freak is getting less of your money than what would usually happen.

Almost everything of value in SwSh are from years of advancements by games released prior to it. In terms of gameplay value, gen 8 is a significantly smaller jump from gen 7 than 3 was from 2.

considering inflation rates/devaluation of $/purchasing power. $34.99 in 2002 is equivalent to $52.17 in 2019. so once again considering those factors. your only paying 5.5 dollars more than you would have in 2002. 5.4 ish in 2002 is equal to 7.8 ish in 2019. ss looks mediocre and its not the game i wanted but your argument is hardly one at all
