I find it funny. The Pokemon fanbase will literally swallow whatever shit is given to them with a smile on their face.
I'm never buying a mainline game again, but I expect the series be wildly successful even on its current trajectory.
Buying new Pokemon games is a tradition. People don't care about the contents, they just like the idea of having another Pokemon game to play. They're judged on a completely different metric to other games.
