Seeing that darkest lariat is available as a technical record, spirit shackle might me available to a couple of Pokemon. Other than that, no. Here's more fairy type bullshit though. Also we need good physical fire type moves. Flare blitz is good just for raw damage output, but recoil is never fun to deal with.

As a huge Cofagrigus fan, this Galarian form is very disappointing. It's Ground/Ghost instead of Ghost/Rock, swapped to physical and has a shittier version of Trace as a new ability.

We need physical ghost moves, but we need ghost draining moves even more. It would be solid if we got a ghost Giga Drain or Leech Life. Pic related would have really liked that. But it and a lot of ghosts are limited to Giga Drain.

I'm hoping to see spirit shackle get wider distribution as well. It was the best signature move of then gen 7 starters.

Close but not quite. The abilities switch only when instigated by the user. So if Golurk hits Runegrigus with a Shadow Punch, nothing happens. Then Runegrigus hits Golurk with Shadow Punch and the abilities swap. Now next turn Golurk (now in possession of Wandering Spirit) hits Runegrigus again and the abilities swap again. Then Runegrigus hits again and the abilities swap again and so forth ad nauseum.
Keep in mind though you'll probably favor engagements with special attackers anyway due to Runegrigus' bulk and they typically won't be able to play ability tennis with you.

An issue with this getting Spirit Shackle from an hypothetical TR is that while this would be very good on its own, it also doesn't activate the ability like Earthquake. Essentially the same reason why Long Reach was bad on Decidueye. In order to activate his ability reliably it needs Shadow Sneak.

Ghost/ground is better than ghost/rock both offensively and defensively. Plus stab earthquake? Im really starting to think people who dont like ghost/ground dont have a competitive mindset when looking at these mons.

You literally got this backwards. Opponent hits Rune > abilities swap. Rune then just spams non-contact physical moves to cuck said opponent out of getting their ability back. We have EQ for non-contact Ground STAB, so all we need is a potential Spirit Shackle TM/TR for non-contact Ghost STAB.

What if these moves existed?

Polter-Pummel
80 BP
100% Acc
The user uses spectral energy to manipulate surrounding objects and pummel the target. This reapplies the effects of all active hazards on the enemy team.
(All hazards are re-applied to the target as if the Pokemon has just switched in)

Shadow Anchor
120 BP
90% Acc
The user drags the target down with shadows, preventing Flying-type moves and negating Levitate for several turns.
(Damage + single-target Gravity)

Wait... what the fuck? You're right, but I feel seriously fucked with. When the ability was revealed, everyone was referring to it as a "offensive mummy" and hoping that Runegrigus got Shadow Sneak so it could activate it before the opponent got a chance to move. Did I jump realities overnight?

Then again, GF have been vague with their abilities and moves before. There's a (very small) chance it could actually be when Runerigus makes contact, or even any physical contact in either direction. Who knows?

First move is ridiculously OP when you factor in 4x weaknesses to stealth rock, especially coming off 80bp. The latter move has a neat effect, but is ridiculously strong- I'd reduce it to 90-100bp at the expense of 5pp/10pp.

People want Ghost/Rock because it's an unused type combination. Especially after Cursola somehow missed the opportunity, people jumped on Runerigus as the next possibility.

Ghost/Rock isn't worse offensively at all, especially considering not only the existence of an abundance (or, previous abundance) of normal/flying types, but also the lack of viable stealth rock users in this gen.
Not to mention it could've gotten a good signature rock move with 100 accuracy, or better, given us a good reason to get a 100 accuracy physical rock move for other rock types to enjoy.
