What are the chances of GF taking down showdown? Since that would be the optimal place to play with all the pokémon once gen 8 hits.

If you're gonna play the lesser known battle sims you might as well just play some other, better competitive turn based RPG.

A big chunk of the appeal of Pokemon is the large community to the point of being able to foster multiple formats and some literal who battle sim where you can only play against 200 of the same people doesn't really work with that.

Those battle sims would become more known if showdown was taken down though. Its like whack a mole on the Internet, shit never stays down. People would just move on to pokemon online, or shoddy battle simulator (if that still even exists lmao)
