what do I do bros?
I want to get the games really bad, they look fun and like something I could spend a bunch of time on. But I don't want to support game freak financially because they have so many objective flaws

Get it used, there are people who buy a game, beat it once, and then bring it back it. Should only take like a week, two tops, before used ones pop up.
Now, they won't be much less expensive than a new copy, if at all, but at least gamefreak isn't getting the money.

You're supporting Gamestop either way. Game Freak already has their money by the time the game is sitting on Gamestop shelves and by buying used you're just limiting the supply of the game and forcing someone else to buy new.

This is the reason you should buy the games. The objective flaws is something every game, specifically Pokémon, has. People just don't like o admit Pokemon was never really "good".

If you think you'll have fun and could spend some time there, that's exactly what you should be looking for in a Pokemon game.

If you mean the dexcuts, I think we all need to realize it was going to happen eventually. As for graphics and visuals, it's a Pokemon game...not a ps4 game. As for content, it seems rather sizable for a first version but it's mostly up to you on how much content it is based off how much you are willing to do (Do you play online? Do you play in the battle tower? Are you willing to do raids for fun and completing the gigantamax forms/growing stronger?)

I'm gonna assume your point is that the graphics and lack of content never improved and agree to disagree that gen 3 wasn't a clear jump from 2, 4 never improved the battle mechanics, etc. Hell I don't like gen 6 or later but I gave them a pass for that one because at least it was an actual transition to models instead of sprites. I just thought they'd have finished transitioning by the next gen, not still struggling 2 generations later.
