My main ribbon mon is cut so I'll have to play through colo or xd again to pick a new one. Hopefully they haven't been cut but the leaker hasn't said anything about ribbons even though there is a ribbon page on the stats screen. There should be at least 3 new ones and hopefully they bring back the pricy sinnoh ones and the memorial ones so that I can get them on my gen 7 mons.

It's when you alienate the autism that talk nonstop about a thing they like that it start to die. Look at every community ever big or small. The core players the one that put over 1k hours per game and make content like streams, art, etc are the one you don't want to alienate.

Its something to collect in most games. They're also tied to side quests some of the time like reaching a certain streak in a battle facility or completing different pokemon contests.

Fair enough. I don't tend to bother with side quests or any optional extras so it makes sense I've never really understood the point of ribbons.

pretty much, my ribbon pokemon is aipom and he was cut, i know a bunch of ribbonfags to be honest all they had to do to keep us happy was keep the starters in, as long as infernape, the first pokemon i got when i was 11 is in i would have pre ordered the game but they even cut bulbasaur and squirtle

Next vacation im buying gale of darkness maybe if i like it i'll send eevee to all the other games collecting ribbons even if it can't get the purification ribbon

There's no way Ribbons are returning. If they can't bring the most basic and fundamental of features back, then there's no way there's bringing back a mechanic that's been on the backburner since Gen 5.
