>>41002697There were two options they had when making the game.
OPTION 1: Make it so that you have to open the menu every time you want to train just one pokemon, go to the box menu, select all the pokemon you don’t want to train, deposit them back into the boxes, back out of the box menu, and then back out of the main menu. And then repeat this EVERY time you want to train just one pokemon. Oh, and if you’re not in the wild area (which most of the game isn’t even in), you have to do all of this in addition to going back to the pokemon center or any other building with a pc and doing it all there. Every. Single. Time.
or
OPTION 2: go to settings and turn it off.
There is NO reason whatsoever why something as incredibly and ridiculously simple as putting a toggle option in the menu hasn’t been done. They simply don’t give a fuck about what people actually want. Can they do it? Yes. Will they do it? No. Why won’t they? Because fuck you, that’s why. And there are actually people here that defend this, that actually go out of their way to support the inability of having options. And it’s not like they would have to make employees stay several hours longer every day for a week to get this done. This is a 20 minute job if that. They just won’t do it because they don’t care. They could either make you run back to the PokeCenter and get on a PC every time you’re training a pokemon on a route, or they can easily give you the convenience of avoiding all of that by turning off exp share in the settings, which you would only have to do one single time in your entire play through. They picked the former because they couldn’t give a fuck about what would be convenient for you, all they care about is what would make the game easier for children so that they won’t go back to playing games on their phones.
