I'm willing to bet that the railroading has a significant impact on sales. It's like having a tour guide leading you the entire time. You're much less likely to veer off and lose interest. It also helps disguise the fact that there's nothing to actually do if you were to veer off.

Because player retention also impacts consumer retention. In other words, the more players find the game boring, the less likely they are to place any trust in the next one.

I think the chickens are coming home to roost though and the strategy isn't paying off the way it was supposed to. Game Freak has overplayed its hand.

But you still have to fight a vastly higher leveled Pokemon. That's the trade off.

Imagine fighting a higher leveled Pokemon, you can't catch it, and it wouldn't even award you with eXP. There would literally be no point to fighting them.

The music in general is great. Another thing: I know people are saying the game will be easy, and I don’t think it’ll be that hard either, but there was one point where the streamer literally blacked out while facing a wild snover that was a few levels above his team. That sort of thing had literally no chance of happening in sun and moon. People like to rag on the graphics a lot, but after seeing the game in action I think it looks quite pretty.

animations make no sense for what move the pokemon is using
