>>41006033It may well sell well, but one bad taste and people will drop the series. Its not like there aren't other games to play. And its not like Gamefreak has cultivated the benefit of the doubt in anyway. Sure, they get money this time, but I honestly doubt they'll make much in the future.
Then they'll realize how much their empire needed these games to succeed. Without the games pokemon are just like beanie babies. The games give them purpose and identity. Without that, they're not much. And people will find meaning else where.
Maybe most of the profit didn't come from the games. But its because of the games profit was possible in the first place. Without it, I doubt they'll sell much. As old fans leave towards greener pastures, and kids get bored with a game that offers them nothing nor does much to keep their attention.
I played the shit out of Soulsilver and the Battle Frontier as a kid. It felt so fun to play. The many features engendered me to the game, and exploring Kanto and Johto felt so fun.
Its what made me like the games.
But kids nowadays won't get that. And in turn, they'll go seek out different games, and not have the loyalty of older generations.
Thus, pokemon slowly dies to its own avarice. So scared of kids playing on phones, they never bothered to make a game worth them putting down their phones, never tried, and insured their own demise.
